In a response to Barnes & Noble’s recent Nook discounts, Amazon has dropped the price of its 16GB Kindle Fire HD tablet to $ 169 in the US, £ 139 in the UK and € 169 in other European countries.
The deal is live across all of Amazon’s sites, although the firm’s US website lists the offer as being for a “limited time” only.
Although the ecommerce giant didn’t provide a statement as such on the news, the move is most likely in response to recent on-goings at Barnes & Noble.
The struggling bookseller has been dropping the price of its Nook HD tablets in the US and UK in recent weeks and revealed last month that it will no longer be manufacturing the tablets in-house. The firm’s Nook tablets start from just $ 129.
