What does Amazon have in store for the new Kindle Fire tablets?
We’ve got a new Nexus 7 and an iPad mini 2 on the way but what about Amazon’s tablets? We take a look at the rumoured Amazon Kindle Fire 2, Kindle Fire HD 2 and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 2 release date, price and specs.
Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets have been popular, offering consumers a cheap tablet with a simple and easy to use interface. They’ve been around for a while now so what’s in store for the second-generation models? We’ve rounded up all the information we can gather.
All of this juicy information has come from an exclusive BGR report (apart from our opinion, of course) and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
New Kindle Fire 2 tablets: Release date
It’s rumoured that Amazon will update its Kindle Fire tablets within the next few months making them available in time for Christmas. A new Kindle Fire 2, Kindle Fire HD 2 and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 2 are supposedly on their way.
A launch event followed by release in September or October seem the most likely to us.
New Kindle Fire 2 tablets: Price
Pricing for the new Kindle Fire tablets isn’t finalised yet but Amazon is ‘trying hard’ to keep the prices the same as previous models – Apple style. There will, of course, be variations for the different storage capacities.
Existing models are priced starting at £ 129, £ 159 and £ 229.
Amazon will do well to keep the prices the same, giving the Kindle Fire tablets one up on the new Nexus 7 which has increased from £ 159 to £ 199 for the cheapest model.
