Tablets for Less than $ 200 - Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and More These days, it’s quite hard to find a tablet selling for less than $ 200 that comes with strong specifications and / or a lot of unique features. The Google Nexus 7 (2013), after all, got released at a price point of $ 229, making it $ 30 more expensive than its predecessor. The same applied to the Kindle Fire HDX, which sported improved specs and an innovative button that allows for instant customer service assistance. However, a visit to Amazon’s website suggests that buyers still can get good deals on tablets under $ 200 without having to gamble on a little-known tablet of dubious quality.

As a disclaimer, buyers hoping that the Nexus 7 (2013) or Kindle Fire HDX would be included in this recap may end up disappointed, as neither cutting-edge midrange tablet is available at less than $ 200. The Nexus 7 (2013), in fact, is listed at full retail for the 16 GB version, while the 32 GB version is selling for only $ 6 less, or $ 262.99.

But Amazon does have its 7-inch Kindle Fire HD in 8 GB and 16 GB form, with pricing set at $ 139 and $ 169 respectively, or $ 154 and $ 184 without Amazon’s “special offers”, or advertisements. Yes, that’s the same as the tablets’ full retail pricing, but 2012′s Kindle Fire HD does offer a lot of bang for the buck considering how much the devices cost at the moment.

Buyers who insist on getting some sort of discount may want to add the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to their carts and see just how much it costs – this is a security measure retailers often require from shoppers, but in Amazon’s case, users don’t have to create an account and / or enter personal data.

Originally $ 199.99, the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 now costs only $ 139.99, and that’s going to get you a tablet with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It’s solid but unspectacular, yet one of the heaviest-discounted tablets under $ 200 presently selling on Amazon.

While Asus is best known to Americans as the maker of Google’s Nexus 7 (2012) and (2013) tablets, the company also has its own MeMOPad carrying Asus branding and no one else’s. The 7-inch, 16 GB MeMOPad is available for $ 141.64, a discount of less than $ 8 off the regular price of $ 149, and its other key specifications include a 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, Android 4.1, and 16 GB internal storage.

Also less heralded than the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD / HDX or even the Galaxy Tab 3 series is the Dell Venue 7 tablet, which normally sells for $ 246.63 in 16 GB form, but is now priced at only $ 149.99. That’s going to get you a tablet powered by a 2 GHz Apple A4 processor and 2 GB RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Dell also has a Venue 8 16 GB and a Venue 8 32 GB selling on Amazon for less – pricing is at $ 179.73 and $ 196.90 (reg. price $ 328.84) respectively for both tablets.
