Amazon updates Kindle for Windows Phone 8 with many new ... - WinSource

Did you know there is an official Kindle app for Windows Phone? You may have forgotten since it hasn’t been updated in almost a year. Way back in January they added a few new Windows Phone 8 features, but now they are finishing up the job with another update.

Version 2.0.0.5 of the Kindle app adds several features every Windows Phone 8 device should have. The most notable is fast resume, which allows the app to resume where it was when launched without having to restart. In other words, no more splash screen! Amazon also added the ability to see book progress on the live tile, a new image for the double-wide tile, and some general bug fixes.

These new features finally bring the Kindle app up to speed. If you are an avid reader in the Kindle ecosystem you will want to download this update immediately. We’re glad Amazon finally added these features in time for new Windows Phone users this holiday season. Download Kindle for free below.
