The next Kindle Fire HD models will offer high-end tablet specs, including a high-end Snapdragon 800 processor, according to a recent report. But, until now, we didn’t know what to expect from Amazon’s entry-level Kindle Fire tablet.

According to a new report published Friday, the next Kindle Fire will launch with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and built by Texas Instruments. It’s allegedly the same chip that Amazon used to power its first generation Kindle Fire, though that could be a good choice to keep the price super low. 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2 are also going to launch on the device, though Android will be coated with Amazon’s custom Kindle Fire interface – which itself may see some changes.

There’s nothing too groundbreaking about this report, and apparently it could cost $ 159 for the 8GB model still – which isn’t exactly a steal. Though, our gut tells us that it’s likely this device will come in a bit cheaper to compete with the onslaught of new Android tablets across the market.
